Over 300,000 total followers on SNS! Interview with Miyu Ito/Miyuchai!
Today, we take a deeper dive into the life and career of Miyuki Ito, an influencer who has overcome many challenges to become successful in her field.

– What inspired you to become an influencer?
My journey as an influencer started when a friend who is a hairstylist asked me to be a salon model. After posting photos on social media, I started receiving messages from other hairstylists, which encouraged me to continue working as a salon model.
At first, I felt a bit embarrassed about being photographed, as I wasn’t used to it. I realized a lot of areas where I could improve, so I started looking at my senior colleagues’ photos, practicing poses in front of the mirror, and learning how to look better in pictures. I worked hard and studied to improve.
Starting as a salon model allowed me to develop a close, down-to-earth communication style, where I could be authentic and share my true self with my followers. This style has remained consistent, and I continue to maintain it today.
– What do you focus on when sharing content?
When I share content, my priority is always to provide valuable information to my followers and viewers. I strongly believe in delivering content that can add value to their lives, so I’m always researching to gather the most useful information!
Moreover, I make sure to use not only feed posts to share information but also Stories. For instance, I share details like my customized Starbucks drinks or the locations I visit, so that my followers can get a sense of what I’m doing and where I am. I want them to feel a sense of closeness and connect with me.
Every piece of content has a backstory. Whether it’s makeup products or food, I share the journey—how I encountered them, what I love about them, and why I’m currently passionate about them. I think explaining the story behind each recommendation helps followers relate and get more interested.

– What’s the biggest decision you’ve made so far?
- Deciding to move to Tokyo
- Deciding not to get married (breaking off an engagement)
There are times when I wonder, “What would have happened if I had gotten married?” But, looking back, this experience motivated me to work even harder, and it also led me to come back to Tokyo.
– What do you do when you’re feeling tired?
When I’m mentally tired, I go out for drinks with friends or spend time with people who help me relax.
When I’m physically tired, nothing beats a good night’s sleep! I make sure to get enough rest and often listen to music before going to bed. It helps me unwind and get a restful sleep.

– What are some of the challenges you want to take on in the future?
I’ve become fascinated by Korean culture ever since I became a fan of BTS. I want to spend six months living in Korea to learn more about the language and culture. While studying in Japan is an option, I’d prefer to immerse myself in Korea and learn firsthand.
We can definitely expect even more exciting things from Miyuki Ito in the future!
